COVID-19 PROTOCOLS

PREVENTIVE MEASURES - NEW COVID-19 PROTOCOLS

Due to the situation we’ve all experienced with COVID-19, Illa Beach Hotels has created a protocol for adapting the measures to be adopted in all the departments of its establishments

These new protocols will be adapted and updated according to the real needs of the situation and evolution of the pandemic. Staff training is essential to assure a safe stay and environment for clients and employees, as well as gathering knowledge to prevent a future health crisis.

RECEPTION

The temperature control of the guests upon arrival is the first filter for the security of the clients themselves, the installation of partitions at the reception desk, respect of safety distance or use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) among the staff, disinfection of the workplace after each day, as well as prioritizing the use of the hotel's corporate TV channel to get information and hotel schedules, in order to avoid the exchange of documents.

The check-out time has been changed to 11.00, while the check-in time has been delayed to 15.00 in order to comply with the new room cleaning measures.

We will have a “hygienic-sanitary kit” for sale at the reception including the following:
· Hydro-alcoholic wipe
· 30 ml hydro-alcoholic gel bottle
· 3 layer hygienic mask
· Pair of vinyl gloves

ROOMS AND CLEANING

All non-essential items such as coffee machines, magazines, brochures or laundry bags have been removed from the rooms; amenities have been reduced to essentials, while hydro-alcoholic gel has been included and has also been put in crucial areas of the hotel itself (dining room, bar, swimming pools…). The staff will avoid cross contamination in the cleaning of rooms. This includes the use of single paper use to clean the terrace, room and bathroom, thus removing any cloth to avoid cross contamination.

The use of proven virucidal products has also been introduced and the mandatory use of PPE by all staff members has been added. In addition, disinfection with a water steam system of elements of habitual use such as TV control, telephone, hangers, safe, handles, doors or curtains and / or curtains has been added to the check-out procedure.

In the event of suspected or confirmed cases of coronavirus without needing a transport to the hospital, a specific area of ​​the hotel has been reserved with strict measures for the allocation and occupation of the rooms, as well as cleaning.

DINNING ROOM

Illa Beach Hotels is committed to its buffet service, since it is a characteristic part of its offer, and is highly valued by its clients. In order to continue to offer this service, we’ve established security measures that must be followed by both employees and customers. Shifts are now organized for breakfast and dinner, the capacity of restaurants is reduced and hand disinfection will be mandatory at the entrance.

The buffet will now contain more individual servings, more packaged goods and more show cooking. An even stricter routine of temperature monitoring has been imposed, as well as hygiene and employee distance measures. The tables will be covered by single-use tablecloths and the cutlery will be brought to the table when occupied.

MMAINTENANCE & POOLS

The pools will have capacity limitations, the sun loungers, umbrellas and Balinese beds will be separated. The frequency of cleaning and disinfection tasks in swimming pool areas has been reinforced and appropriate water disinfection products will be used for the current situation. Individual protection measures are also taken care of with the use of masks and gloves by the staff.

The maintenance staff will also ensure the correct operation of the air conditioning equipment, as well as the disinfection and monitoring of tunnels and washing trains, while shared work tools will be disinfected after each use.

GENERAL FEATURES

The use of stairs in different signposted circuits will be promoted. The capacity of the elevators will be adapted to the use by clients simultaneously only when they live in the same room. Otherwise, the capacity will be limited to 2 people keeping the safety distance inside the elevator itself. In addition, the use of hydro-alcoholic gel dispensers will be recommended before entering the elevators as well as in the hallways to access the rooms.

To guarantee safety between clients & employees against external providers, they will be required to take the safety and hygiene measures adopted by their companies and following the criteria published by the Ministry of Health.
